Hi, my name is Johanna Covell. I am a makeup artist based in Fayetteville, NC.
I was born in Ecuador and moved to the US after getting married to an Army officer. I embrace the dynamic life of a military wife, constantly moving with my husband and three children. Since graduating from the Tint School of Makeup and Cosmetology in Seattle, WA in 2017, I have passionately pursued my professional makeup career. During my studies, I collaborated with professional photographers and models and contributed to noteworthy events such as the 2017 Bellevue Fashion Show and the 2018 Chance Fashion Show in Seattle.
Work Experience and continuing studies
In 2018, I moved to Georgia and worked at Sephora as a Beauty Advisor. In 2019, I moved to Texas and opened an in-home Makeup Studio to continue my freelance work. I also participated in the 2019 Runway of Hope as a Makeup Artist and was invited back to lead the Makeup and Hair Team in 2020. In 2021, I moved to Massachusetts and took an online master makeup program to be certified in additional advanced makeup techniques. I also had an amazing experience working with Beauty Boston to provide makeup services for brides and bridal parties around Massachusetts. I am now studying to become a licensed cosmetologist in North Carolina. As a result of my time spent in different regions of the US and in both military and civilian contexts, I have received many clients with different backgrounds, ethnicities, and complexions.
